GEORGE HIXSON Sumo Masters at Men of Menil Meredith Cullen, Ford Hubbard T o celebrate The Menil Collection's 25th anniversary year, the third annual Men of Menil fund-raiser hosted a group of Japanese sumo master rikishi, or wrestlers — quite a coup, as this is only the fourth time in 20 years that professional rikishi have visited the United States. Chairmen David Fitch, Greg Looser, and Harry Pinson welcomed the tournament performance to the Menil's Richmond Hall building, home of Dan Flavin's permanent light installation. The black-tie occasion raised a record-setting $443,622 for the museum's everyday operations, as well as education and outreach programs.
