T elevision producer and media heavyweight George Kline made his mark in the entertainment biz when working at KERA on Saturday Night Opry, the show that evolved into Austin City Limits. He ran the George Kline Company producing television programming for more than 20 years before venturing into wealth management. This year's Aging Mind Foundation Gala, chaired by Laree Hulshoff, celebrated Kline's four-plus decades of accomplishments. The annual soirée pays homage to those brilliant minds that have shaped our city and now struggle with brain-health diseases such as dementia. This year's tribute to George and his wife Kristin Kline raised funds for the Baylor AT&T Memory Center. The gala began three days prior, with a Wednesday-night preview party at Forty Five Ten on Main, hosted by president and co-founder Brian Bolke in his swank penthouse restau- rant, Mirador. He tapped Sies Marjan creative director Sander Lak, who fl ew in from New York, to present his Fall/Winter 2017 collection. Days later, guests returned downtown for the gala at The Joule hotel's Praetorian and Mosaic Ballrooms, where emcee and WFAA anchor Ron Corning held cour t and songbirds Denise Lee and Joslin Dsouza delivered a pair of power- house performances. As for the after-party … It was on the Joule's rooftop in the glassy Terrace, where a perfect spring evening prompted al fresco revelry that lasted into the wee hours.
