92 Mirador at Forty Five Ten on Main HAVE A LOBSTER ROLL, LOVER If Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing's Asian-fusion eatery Shinsei is any in- dication, their sec- ond concept, Lovers Seafood & Market, should thrive. Tucked into the for- mer Rex's Fresh Seafood space in the Inwood Road/Lovers Lane area, Lovers Seafood feels like a famil- iar neighborhood haunt one visits on a beach getaway — shiplap, hemp- rope, herringbone millwork, turquoise chairs, and crystal liquor decanters above an aquamarine bar. Executive chef Aaron Staudenmaier (formerly of Knox-Henderson's Abacus and the exclusive Boot Ranch retreat in Fredericksburg) commands the kitchen. Creative apps include fluffy bread baked in a terra-cotta flower- pot and served with pepper-herb but- ter; grilled shrimp dip with focaccia croutons; and Thai-style mussels and clams. For a main, try the market fish such as a grilled yellow snapper with roasted poblano jack grits, charred broccoli, and creamy mac and cheese. Or, order the $29 Maine-style lobster roll (chilled mayo, tarragon, scallions), Connecticut style (warm butter, lemon zest), or Dynamite style (charred with sriracha mayo). If a seat's available, cozy up to the raw bar for a chilled glass of rosé and oysters and sea ur- chin — the market is stocked daily with fresh fish flown in from Martha's Vineyard to Hawaii to Scotland. Short on time? The take-out menu offers clam chowder, gumbo, ahi tuna poke, house-made dips and sauces, and whole pies. Lovers Seafood & Market, 5200 W.
