B oth Star Wars space jockeys and the Jetsons would have been quite comfortable among their doppelgängers that filled the exhibition halls at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft when the annual Martini Madness party adopted a Space-Age Soirée theme. While most guests were costumed in out-of-this-world fantasies, chairs Libby Cagle, Lauren Taft, Kyle Dutton, and Mike Mahlstedt opted for earthly sartorial splendor, thereby leaving the costume contest to the guests. Winners were space alien Robin Pilcher and robot Kelly Opre Jones, silver-suited astronauts Edward Lane McCartney and David Gooding, and space vixen Kathleen Zinn and her astronaut husband, Jeff Zinn. Key to this evening were artist-made martini glasses, which guests quickly nabbed for the flowing Cosmic Cosmopolitans and Martian Martinis concocted from Deep Eddy Vodka.
