Tilting your tower at a diagonal — and making it the tallest residential building in downtown Houston — accomplishes the feat. Meet The Preston, Hines' most ambitious high-rise yet — a 46-story tower rising at the corner of Preston and Milam. It's being built at a diagonal to open up views that would otherwise be blocked by the four tall buildings around it. SUSHI DREAMS PELOSI PROUD WAKING UP GHOSTS When Daniel Lee and Patrick Pham worked together at Houston's Uchi, each man dreamed of opening his own restaurant. Now they're doing it together, plotting the new Kokoro in Bravery Chef Hall. This new food hall heading into the ground fl oor of the Aris Market Square Tower wants to stand apart from all the other food halls opening in Houston. Lee and Pham's ambitions fi t that. When Nancy Pelosi's pointed clapping during Donald Trump's State of the Union Address went viral, it put a Houston jeweler in the spotlight, too. The Speaker of the House wore a one-of-a- kind necklace by jewelry artist Mariquita Masterson. Pelosi's daughter, Jacqueline Kenneally, lives in Houston; she picked out the piece for her mom's spotlight moment.
