She has teamed with some of her favorite design friends to create tabletop collections: Aerin Lauder and Richard Ginori porcelain (which produces Gucci home), sold at friend Lauren Santo Domingo's Moda Operandi. She brings the collections of romantic bohemian ware to Houston as part of Texas Design Week, Tuesday, March 26, for a preview event at the stunning Moxie design emporium, with cocktails, a talk, and presentation of her book, Cabana Anthology (see pages 80-81). A glassware collaboration with Aerin Lauder channels traditional Austrian design and is handmade in Murano. Cabana's Persia Collection of table linens was created for the Cabana pop-ups at Bergdorf Goodman and Burlington Arcade in London, and has all the arabesques and colorations of traditional Persian rugs. Rebecca Sherman C h a t e a u D o m i n g u e 's extraordinary 19th-century encaustic cement tiles are reclaimed from some of Europe's most beautiful buildings. These tiles were used throughout the 19th century but fell out of favor in the 20th and were replaced by less expensive, less colorful flooring, such as wood and linoleum. The colorful patterned tiles — created by blending cement and marble powder with natural pigments — decorated the floors of fine private homes, chapels, and churches throughout France, Spain, and Italy. One of the most spectacular examples can be seen in the Barcelona residence of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí — an ongoing inspiration for modern interiors. Chateau Domingue has one of the country's largest collections of reclaimed encaustic cement tiles in myriad colors and patterns. $16 to $18 each, at Chateau Domingue, 3560 W. 12th St., chateaudomingue.com. Rebecca Sherman CEMENTED IN THE PAST 70 Cabana x Richard Ginori plates, $210 - $295, and Cabana x Aerin carafe set, $467 INDO-CHIC CABANA WARE
