Purpose: Côtes du Coeur Chairs Trisha and Rick Allen and Open Your Heart Chairs Kathleen and Scott Kirby hosted the Côtes du Coeur event "Big Bottle Party" at the HALL Arts Hotel. Patrons submitted a large format bottle of wine which will be auctioned off at the April event and participated in a friendly competition for biggest bottle, most unique, best etched, best in show and people's choice. Kathleen and Scott shared the story of their son who suffered a stroke at the age of 4 due to a previously undetected heart defect and the efforts they took for a full recovery. Fact: Heart disease and stroke can affect anyone at any time. Funds raised from Côtes du Coeur go directly toward cardiovascular research and heart health educational programs both locally and nationwide. Upshot: In 2024, the American Heart Association will celebrate 100 years as a relentless force for longer, healthier lives. The work of the Heart Association is more important now than ever before, and Côtes du Coeur is a catalyst for this critical work. Over the course of its 32-year history, Côtes du Coeur has attracted more than 25,000 attendees and has raised more than $55 million in mission investments. The 2024 event is the culmination of year-long fundraising efforts to be celebrated on April 27, 2024, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
