30 By Christina Geyer. Photography Bret Redman. W hat does a top social media entrepreneur/street-style superstar do when she be- comes a mom? Does she put down the camera phone and trade from-the- runway designers for (gasp!) sweatpants? Not Nasiba Hartland-Mackie. After giving birth to her fi rst child a little more than a year ago, the Russian–born, Dallas- residing beauty expanded her fashion infl uence by launching The Tot with a fellow Russian glamour gal, her bestie Miroslava Duma. The dot-com features e-commerce (handcrafted play gyms; prams inspired by Ray and Charles Eames), advice (breastfeeding 411 from lac- tation experts), and editorial (Rachel Zoe on being a mom). Hartland-Mackie and Duma celebrated the launch with a kid-friendly fête at Goar Park, the see-and-be-seen playground for Park Cities babes. The guest list was a Who's Who of the fashion world. Designers (and friends) Nicholas Kirkwood, Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto, Prabal Gurung, and Mary Katrantzou all came to town to support Duma and Hartland-Mackie. Also on the VIP list: Baby2Baby co-presidents Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, Forty Five Ten's new creative director and women's fash- ion director Taylor Tomasi Hill, blogger Chriselle Lim, and stylist Luisa Fernanda Espinosa. You see, all our dear Nasiba must do is pick up the phone, and the style world's top brass come running. MOTHER KNOWS BEST Take notes from Nasiba Hartland-Mackie's carnival-themed Tot-launch playbook. Your kiddos will thank you. • Enlist Berrynaked to supply the Popsicles. (They're organic, after all.) • Skip the petting zoo: Have the little ones collect fresh farm eggs. • Don't skimp on the games. Knock Em' Down Bust A Balloon. A Bounce House. All necessary. • Your face here: Circus animal peekaboo photo stands make for popular Instagram posts. • Don't forget benevolence! Collect donations. Diapers, clothing, and other essentials were collected to benefi t Baby2Baby. Hartland Mackie and Duma also announced the donation of a $25,000 gift to Baby2Baby. • Flower crowns? Yeah. Your two-year-old needs one. And so do you.
