12 letter publisher ANNE LAHO A s we enter June, it's hard to believe that we have reached the halfway marker of 2018. While we received a brief reprieve from the heat last month, the temps have escalated as we brace ourselves for another Houston summer. Vacations and escaping the heat is on every- one's mind, but before we go, let's take a quick look back at last month's events. Jewelry was the common thread of May as we celebrated two of our partners, Harry Winston and De Beers Diamond Jewellers, with lovely events in both Houston and Dallas. Harry Winston launched the Winston Garden Forget-Me-Not collection — gorgeous pink and blue sapphires surrounded by diamonds to create the most delicate flower rings, brace- lets, and earrings. See the back cover of this issue for a stunning visual. De Beers Diamond Jewellers gathered young women in Houston for an intimate lunch at Bloom & Bee restaurant in the recently opened Post Oak Hotel. Engagement and bridal jewelry was brought in from London for the ladies to try on and earmark for their own big day. And, while client events took me to Dallas a few times in May, one visit was most bittersweet and that was to see our amazing Dallas publisher, Briana Buxbaum, retire from PaperCity. Briana started at PaperCity Houston in 2012 as an account manager, fresh from her home state of Arizona. I knew right away she would be perfect for the job. She grew her business at a rapid pace, and when we had an opening in Dallas for a new associate publisher, Briana was my first thought. She jumped at the chance to move to Dallas, where she continued to succeed and create a name for herself in the market. After six successful years at the magazine, Briana is moving back west, and she will be missed dearly. We wish her so much happiness in her new ventures. As luck would have it, a friend at Harry Winston called and said they had the perfect someone who was leaving New York City and looking for a job in publishing in Dallas, which brings us to Hillery Stack, our new Dallas publisher. Hillery has an extensive background in advertising sales and marketing and is coming to us from Marie Claire magazine, where she served as the luxury and beauty director. Prior to Marie Claire, Hillery worked in sales and marketing at The New York Times and Harry Winston. Please join us in welcoming her to PaperCity. We hope everyone has a relaxing and safe summer.
