By Matthew Ramirez and Catherine D. Anspon. Photography Alex Barber, Emile Browne, Jenny Antill Clifton, Daniel Ortiz, and Lizette Belen Soto. HOUSTON RULES T he country's oldest online art magazine, Texas' award-winning Glasstire, rebranded its annual fund-raiser, Glasstire Party: Houston Edition. (Future iterations will celebrate other Texas cities and their scenes.) At Hermann Park's Cherie Flores Pavilion, chair quintet Ricky Anderson, Yvette and Scott Hill, and Leslie and Mark Hull brought together an art crowd, who reveled in the graffiti-inspired decor by Rebekah Johnson, a classic Armandos Tex-Mex buffet, and nostalgic '80s tunes spun by DJ Dave Wrangler. The night added well over six figures to GT's bottom line. On scene: Founder Rainey Knudson with husband (and Art Guy) Michael Galbreth, and mom, Sally Reynolds; GT's Brandon Zech, Christina Rees, and board chair Eleanor Williams; gallerists Apama Mackey, Meg Poissant, Deborah Colton; and artists Dennis Nance, Ariane Roesch, Robert Hodge, and Emily Link.
