62 ART + DECORATION I n Los Angeles' celebrity-driven culture, privacy and exclusivity are everything. David Alhadeff totally gets it — he's the owner of Casa Perfect, a new contemporary design showroom tucked discreetly along the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Visits to Casa Perfect are by appointment only, and you'll get the exact address for the private shopping experience only after you book a slot. Located in Beverly Hills inside a 1957-built modernist villa designed by architect David Hyun, Casa Perfect also flexes plenty of star power: Elvis Presley lived here from 1967 to 1973, the mostly happy years with Priscilla and Lisa Marie. Casa Perfect is Alhadeff's third design outpost; he opened cult favorite The Future Perfect in Manhattan in 2003, followed by a sister location in San Francisco. Each store is tailored to its location, and Casa Perfect is no exception. Part storefront, part gallery and residence, Casa Perfect's rooms are designed with The Future Perfect's lineup of designers, such as furniture and accessories by Piet Hein Eek, Ilse Crawford, and Christian Woo, and lighting by Lindsey Adelman. Alhadeff has also sought out local favorites such as Eric Roinstad's ceramic vessels and L.A.-based Commune Design's pillows, accessories, and bedding. Fashion editor turned jewelry designer Lisa Eisner (who also creates jewelry for Tom Ford) has designed solid-brass cupboard and drawer handles throughout the house. The floor plan and details are much the same as when Elvis lived here, with restored marble fireplaces, coffered ceilings, and sliding glass walls that open onto a terrace with a rolling green lawn and panoramic views of Los Angeles. By appointment, 323.202.2025, thefutureperfect.com. BY REBECCA SHERMAN CASA CURATED Lindsey Adelman's Totem II lamp. Luca Nichetto's Elysia lounge chair and Low Dubois bed for De La Espada. At Casa Perfect, Bower Archway mirror. Piet Hein Eek Glossy sofa and armchair. Miller's Bauer chandelier 01 for Roll & Hill. The Casa Perfect showroom in Elvis and Priscilla Presley's former L.A. home, purchased by Presley in 1967.
