The street had been closed down for festivities, including a performance by the night's headliner: legendary Houston-based piano man Ezra Charles with his son, Jakob Helpinstill, on drums. Bluesy boogie-woogie tunes from Charles' extensive repertoire reverberated through the town, while, the PaperCity logo lit up the night, projected onto the century-old façade of the hotel.
