CELEBRITY FACTOR: SWOONING OVER ROUND TOP'S SPRING SHOW I t was a welcome sight: The bustling antique-filled tents popped up as reliably as the bluebonnets this year in Round Top at the Spring 2021 Antiques Show. More than ever, Round Top proved to be a massive draw for shoppers from around the world — including celebrities. On opening day of Marburger Farm Antique Show, the Highway 237 traffic was back to normal (read: bumper-to-bumper for miles). While a few international dealers were absent due to pandemic travel restrictions, more stateside vendors took their spots, and the tents were full, with CDC protocols enforced. Making our way through the tents after tipping our hats to the mounted police officers, we couldn't help but notice red sold signs dappling coveted inventory, some with an A-list name: Kelly Wearstler. We spotted the AD 100 designer, looking as cool as ever in cutoff shorts and a '90s-style flannel shirt with her entourage of designers alongside. Also spied at the shows: hotelier/designer Liz Lambert with style icon Jenna Lyons and actress Connie Britton. A few HGTV sorts were seen in the fields, too: Leanne Ford, Joanna Gaines, and Grace Mitchell. Also making Round Top rounds were Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, Adrian Grenier, Carson Kressley, and Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Where did we go? Marburger, Big Red Barn, The Compound, Market Hill, Blue Hills, The Arbors, McLaren's, Ex-Cess, The Venue, Bader Ranch, Drift & Holler, Bar W, and the new venue The Halles, where we met designers and shop owners from coast to coast, shopping for clients and their stores, desperate for exciting inventory in a year of supply- chain shortages and closures. Stylish Miami couple Dani and Andres Arellano were sourcing for their store, Volvér; Misha West and Derek Ong were shopping for upcoming store Market by Modern Nest in Phoenix; and Kateryna VanHeisch and Jerry Barron were buying for Sante Fe's The Raven. Dallas designers seen: Chad Dorsey, Melissa Ellis, Lisa Womack, Mili Suleman, and Bonnie Ruth Achariyakosol.
