NOTES ON FASHION BY STEVEN HEMPEL S tart with romance … always enjoyable. Add a touch of rebellion … who doesn't like to be a bad girl (or boy) every once in a while. Blend tradition — that feeling of something that has stood the test of time with strength and, dare we say, delicacy. That's the context for Alexander McQueen's latest graffiti eyewear line. It's just what you need. No more boring face. No more boring you. Four bold new styles from the grand British fashion house. Nothing more, nothing less. British style never gets old. BURBERRY STAYS HOT LOVE H eritage British fashion h o u s e B u r b e r r y c e l e b r a t e s i t s history with the TB Summer Monogram Collection, designed by creative director Riccardo Tisci and launched in a campaign headlined by the iconic Naomi Campbell. Classic still photography by Danko Steiner blends with the work of visual artist Frederik Heyman to create a CGI embodiment of Campbell atop architectural plinths reflected over mirrored water. The imagery is stark and arresting, a testament to Tisci's creativity and the beauty of the model. This collection is the third in the TB series, which was conceived in 2018 when Tisci and graphic designer Peter Saville created the TB monogram as a way to honor Thomas Burberry. The following year saw the inaugural collection headlined by Gigi Hadid, while 2020 starred Kendall Jenner and brilliant new colorways. For 2021, the collection includes men's and women's wear, from nylon trench coats, bomber jackets, and hooded tops to slip dresses, oversized shirts, jersey vests, silk shirts, shorts, and swimwear.
