They include Wellington, a garden scene of exotic birds and peonies in berry tones on a pistachio ground, and Belvoir, an apricot-and-blue design based on an antique paper discovered in the castle's archives. Belvoir now adorns the castle's Brown Room, which was recently redone by English design firm Sybil Colefax & John Fowler. Belvoir Castle has been the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for more than 500 years. The current castle was commissioned in 1801 by the 5th Duchess of Rutland, an 18-year-old architecture buff who selected James Wyatt, the era's leading Gothic romantic architect, to design her dream home. Belvoir Castle is renowned for an exquisite collection of antique Chinese wallpapers dating to the late 1700s. O ne of Italy's oldest and chicest kitchen d e s i g n b r a n d s , Minotticucine, has opened its first Texas showroom, in the Dallas Design District, a partnership with Taxila Stone, and the only Minotticucine stand-alone location in the U.S. The 5,600-square-foot space also features designs by venerable Italian kitchen company Maistri. Adriano Minotti founded the company in a small workshop in Italy in 1948, and under the direction of his son, Alberto Minotti, the brand is now sold in more than 30 countries —and known for kitchen designs that are minimal, monochromatic, and monolithic.
