(Continued on page 100) R aise a glass: A new event has entered the myriad celebrations around our beloved annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas. This year saw the launch of Dallas' President's Dinner, and I have oodles to report. The co-chairs of the evening, Jan Showers and Claire Emanuelson, were assisted by an amazing group of vice chairs: Chad Dorsey, Cate Ford, Lisa Robison, Lisa Rocchio, Nancy Rogers, Shelle Sills, Shelby Wagner, and Kim Whitman. To create the guest list, this dream team simply reached out to the brilliant designers who were in town putting the finishing touches on their Show House rooms (located this year in a manse on Meadowbrook Drive), Kips Bay sponsors, and their Rolodexes of friends. In case you need a primer, the original Kips Bay Decorator Show House was born 47 years ago when dedicated supporters of Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club launched the Show House on NYC's Upper East Side to raise funds to provide innovative programs for more than 10,000 young people between the ages of 6 and 18 at locations throughout the Bronx. The President's Dinner was launched soon after to celebrate that city's Kips Bay Decorator Show House. A President's Dinner is now celebrated annually in Palm Beach as well, tied to the Show House there, and this year Dallas has one as well. The local charities that receive funding are The Crystal Charity Ball and Dwell with Dignity. First The PRESIDENT'S DINNER WAS A DESIGN TOUR DE FORCE KIPS BAY By Billy Fong.
