OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Retail: Get your black AmEx ready, because Highland Park Village has some exciting new tenants, including the first standalone retail locations in Texas for Simkhai and Brioni. It's the fourth retail location for Simkhai, with womenswear, swimwear, handbags, shoes, and accessories, while Italian menswear icon Brioni crafts suits in the spirit of slow luxury. Joining them at HPV this fall are Balmain, Vacheron Constantine, and Loewe (we seriously covet the Loewe Fall/Winter 2023 collection — maybe even more so since dreamy Jamie Dornan modeled much of it). And the new Chanel store is on track to open in late 2024. After viewing the Instagram posts from the L.A. block party showcasing Chanel's 2023/2024 cruise collection, we're hoping they do a similar shindig in HPV. Meanwhile, there are exciting happenings at one of our favorite HPV boutiques. Market, the incubator for sought-after and emerging designers, r e c e n t l y p r e m i e r e d a Staud pop-up through January 2024. Finally, the team at The Conservatory shares fall happenings. FoundRae in Residence starts this month in the HPV downstairs store Bijoux. Other debuts at The Conservatory are Nina Ricci, FForme, Bruno Frisoni, Moschino Men's, and closer to the holidays, Patou, Viktor and Rolf, and SaSuPhi. As we go to press, Botanical is scheduled to reopen later this month or early next. Finally, The Conservatory's retail guru Brian Bolke has reimagined his Teak Room into a larger setting with more treetop views. Never fear, your favorites are still here — the Brian Bowl, tuna melt, and lemon pistachio tart — but we're eager to try seasonal favorites such as summer squash carpaccio and prosciutto grilled cheese. We'll cap it off with a Cindy's margarita, of course. Speaking of dining and shopping, we were thrilled to hear that Mirador, the restaurant perched on the top floor of Forty Five Ten, is slated to reopen this fall. We'll likely be there every week for a catch-up lunch with a girlfriend or for a trunk show — details to follow … There's excitement over at NorthPark Center, too. First off, athle-Tinas will be pleased to know that Nike has opened in a new location on Levels One and Two between Nordstrom and Macy's. It-girls who follow the rebellious and often unpredictable designer Marc Jacobs will find his first North Texas boutique on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. And, drumroll, please: Gucci is scheduled to open its reimagined and expanded retail Mecca on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Dillard's. Jil Sander is on track as well to Buzz Y O U R E V E R - B U Z Z Y PAPERCITY BEE HAS LOTS TO REPORT THIS MONTH. HE'S GOT THE SWEET SCOOP ON WHAT'S PREMIERING IN DALLAS AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT OUR FAVORITE HAUNTS. IF YOU SEE HIM AND HAVE SOME NEWS, BE SURE TO SHARE. open this month on Level One in that same corridor of luxury. And the Prada boutique will open at NorthPark (hopefully with great fanfare) in Summer 2024. At the Galleria, Louis Vuitton is moving to a temporary location on Level 1 next to Sephora as it builds an entirely new, expanded store, expected to open early 2024. Bachendorf's has also moved to a temporary space on Level 1 while its new, larger space with a Rolex store within is preparing for an October premiere. And, if you're feeling peckish after a long day shopping, might we suggest Mi Cocina at the Galleria, which reopened after a major remodel. Social: We hope to see you at the Kylde Warren Park Friends of the Park Annual Membership Party Thursday, September 7. If your membership has been renewed, you've likely receive an invite for what CEO Kit Sawers envisions as the perfect formula for fun: Tex Mex from Mi Cocina and live music from Central Standard Band. Friday, September 8, is one of our favorite events of the year, the Crystal Charity Ball Fashion Show and Luncheon at Neiman Marcus downtown. We'll be suited up (and by suit, we suggest a perennially pretty outfit from this year's featured designer, Adam Lippes) for what normally turns into a full day of fun, when you factor in gathering your girlfriends for late-afternoon cocktails to dish on all you saw and heard. Then it's time to don something that veers towards the avant-garde for the Dallas Contemporary Gala Friday, September 22. The annual event takes place at the museum and it's where you'll find the hippest aesthetes around, bidding on works from renowned artists, then dancing until the wee hours with DJ Sober … Also on our radar: Kidney Texas Fashion Show and Luncheon on Tuesday, September 26, at Brook Hollow and the New Friends New Life Luncheon on Friday, September 29, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. And, in case you missed the VIP opening in August for Thrift Studio, don't worry: You can still shop this design collectors paradise through October 7.
