Fashion Notes By Steven Hempel L ouis Vuitton, trend maker and master of the fashion universe, has returned to classic styles for its Spring/ Summer 2024 men's collection. Gone are the mismatched tops and bottoms, techno fabrics, graphics splayed across pants and tees, and the off-beat dissonance of more recent collections, and instead is composed of elevated everyday staples in sumptuous fabrics. Perhaps the brand is zagging while others continue their march to the beat of the street. The LV Monogram, hallmark for the house, finds a home in subtle patterns on single-breasted suits and coats in graphite and black. F endi launched its first high jewelry collection under the guidance of artistic director of jewelry Delfina Delettrez Fendi at the Autumn/Winter 2023 Couture show in Paris. Delettrez Fendi, the fourth- generation heiress of the Fendi family, has made quite a name for herself in a short amount of time. She began her journey into the world of jewelry through her namesake line and became the youngest designer to be showcased at the Louvre's Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She now manages both her eponymous line and Fendi's jewelry program. The Golden Age Modern Classic with a Heart of Gold Fendi Triptych is a three-part collection of one-off works fusing Roman architecture, natural motifs, and graphic abstraction with stunning results. This is a story of gleaming white diamonds and icy shades of pale pink and yellow with articulated gold chain necklaces, drop pendants, cocktail rings, and a reinterpretation of the tennis bracelet.
