WEARING: ZAC POSEN. JEWELRY: ALL AVAILABLE AT NEIMAN MARCUS. SHOES: RENE CAOVILLA. WHICH OF THE 2015 CRYSTAL CHARITY BALL BENEFICIARIES DO YOU SUPPORT? Family Compass — their organization is about prevention. By educating the mothers and families, they are better equipped to deal with the challenges of parenting. They have a support network. YOUR FIRST VOLUNTEER JOB FOR THE BENEFICIARIES? Selling Partners Cards for The Family Place. I had to find 10 ladies that would be on my team — and we each had to sell 10 to 15 cards. It's amazing to see how successful this fund-raiser has become. THE FIRST EVENT YOU EVER CHAIRED? I believe it was an event for Gilda's Club. One of our dear friends was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and Gilda's Club was opening in Dallas. It was a fabulous Sunday evening event, and the love and support for our friend made the evening a huge success. WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: CASA DE VHERNIER, CRIVELLI, NORMAN SILVERMAN, EMSARU. SHOES: RENE CAOVILLA. MOST MEMORABLE DRESS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN AT THE BALL? Jacquelin Sewell Taylor wore a Carolina Herrera ball gown coupled with a black leather jacket, striking the perfect balance of ladylike chic with an edge. Also, I think Kim Whitman looks amazing every year, especially in her white Derek Lam from two years ago. A FAVORITE CCB LUNCHEON AND FASHION SHOW? The 2008 Crystal Charity Ball Luncheon featured Oscar de la Renta as well. He attended the show and brought so much joy and energy to the room — he loved Dallas, and he loved women, and you could tell! It was definitely one of the most beautiful shows I've seen. IF YOU COULD INVITE THREE FAMOUS PEOPLE TO ATTEND THE LUNCHEON, WHO WOULD THEY BE? Diana Vreeland for her spot-on commentary and wit. Oscar de la Renta so he could see the direction Peter Copping is taking his iconic fashion house. And my grandmother, Frances Goad Cecil, so she could see me, and I could spend one more day with her. WEARING: LELA ROSE. JEWELRY: CRIVELLI. SHOES: JIMMY CHOO. BEST CCB LUNCHEON YOU'VE EVER ATTENDED. That's easy. The Crystal Charity Ten Best Dressed Luncheon the year my mom Patsy Donosky chaired it. It was in the early '90s, and Tucean Webb was the ball chairman that year. I was so proud of my mom when she gave her speech. She spoke of her favorite memories of Neiman Marcus Downtown when my grandmother would take her every August to buy school clothes and have lunch in the Zodiac Room. I still remember our first shopping day at Neiman's, when my mom bought my sister and I matching plaid Florence Eiseman dresses for our first day at Armstrong Elementary. BEST FASHION ADVICE. From my grandmother, Juanita Miller, who gave me my first set of pearls in fourth grade — she bought them for all four of her granddaughters on a visit to Japan. "Pearls will never go out of style, honey. They are timeless. You will be able to wear these for the rest of your life." She later passed on to me her stunning multi-strand natural pearl choker when I was in my 20s. Next to my wedding ring, my grandmother's choker is still my most treasured piece of jewelry.
