WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: DAVID WEBB. SHOES: MANOLO BLAHNIK. THREE FAMOUS PEOPLE YOU WOULD LOVE TO INVITE TO THE LUNCHEON? Oscar de la Renta: As an homage to our 2015 Fashion Show designer, his collections are utterly feminine, unfailingly polished and lush with color and adornment — hard to resist! Carolyne Roehm: She has been recognized in her own right as one of the world's best- dressed women. She also worked for Oscar de la Renta for 10 years as a house model and designer; I'm sure she would have great stories to share! Coco Chanel: She was a symbol of feminine privilege and style and admired independent and strong women. She made it chic to wear faux jewels and mix them with the real thing. And she had great humor: "A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future." Love it! BEST MISTAKE YOU EVER MADE. Buying too many little black dresses. I have a closet full of them, from luxurious to severe, amusing and simple. My latest is by Diane von Furstenberg — magic, I tell you. BEST ADVICE. From my gorgeous mother (who was a role model of stability and decorum): No matter what life throws at you, stand tall, hold your head up and wear your pearls! WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: DAVID WEBB. SHOES: JIMMY CHOO. BEST BALL MEMORY? My best Ball memory would be last year's Ball — "Jewels of the Garden." Entering the beautiful ballroom to a full gospel choir singing the Pharrell song "Happy" was magical and uplifting. A FAVORITE CCB LUNCHEON AND FASHION SHOW? It was the year Alexander McQueen was shown, because it was my first time as an honoree, and I had never been backstage at a fashion show before … wow! THREE FAMOUS PEOPLE YOU WOULD INVITE TO THE LUNCHEON? I would invite Jordan Spieth and his family to attend, because they are a part of my family, and they have never been able to attend due to Jordan's playing schedule. I would also include Michael Greller, Jordan's caddie, because we were in Puerto Rico watching Jordan play when I got the call three years ago. That night, we celebrated Jordan's hole-in-one and my Best Dressed honor! My third, in keeping with this golf theme, would be Justin Thomas, because I think he is one of the best-dressed golfers on the PGA. WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: NICHOLAS VARNEY, DAVID WEBB. SHOES: MANOLO BLAHNIK. MOST MEMORABLE CCB LUNCHEON AND FASHION SHOW? I believe the Alexander McQueen collection was shown that year. I remember walking in, and it just had that dramatic "Wow!" factor. It was black, terribly chic and beautiful. FOR FUTURE TEN BEST DRESSED, WHICH DESIGNER WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET? I would love to have Alberta Ferretti as the featured designer. She's a successful, savvy businesswoman. I adore the Ferretti collection — for me, it's the perfect cocktail choice. The dresses are elegant and sophisticated with gorgeous fabrics and workmanship. BEST ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED. Don't follow trends if they don't work for you. Of course, like most of us, I've broken this rule and know it immediately when I walk out of the house! Do trust your instinct. Are you wearing the clothes, or are they wearing you? Inevitably, I realize this mistake once I get to a party, and it's too late to turn back. It can make for an awkward evening. Patty LEYENDECKER Julie HAWES Pat HARLOE
