WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: PAVÉ DIAMOND EARRINGS, SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING, SAPPHIRE BRACELET. SHOES: RENE CAOVILLA. FAVORITE 2015 CRYSTAL CHARITY BALL BENEFICIARIES? What I love about CCB is that within the beneficiaries, I always find old favorites and ones that are new to me. Dallas is fortunate to have so many diverse agencies serving children, and I am thrilled when I find a hidden treasure in our city. This is my experience with H.I.S. BridgeBuilders this year. They are giving hope to children in Bonton through Crossover Athletics. FIRST EVENT YOU EVER CHAIRED. The Dallas Zoo's Zoo to Do. Michael Meadows gave me the opportunity to try something completely new to me, and it exemplified how much fun you can have all for a good cause. BEST ADVICE. My mother, Marilyn Augur, taught her daughters that with privilege comes responsibility. I am so fortunate to be a part of CCB and have the opportunity to research and raise money for these incredible agencies that dedicate themselves to serving children in Dallas. WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: PLATINUM ROSE-CUT DIAMOND, PLATINUM AND SAPPHIRE BRACELET. SHOES: JIMMY CHOO. FAVORITE QUOTE. "No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted." — Aesop WHICH 2015 CRYSTAL CHARITY BALL BENEFICIARIES DO YOU SUPPORT? I have a special connection with the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center. Founded by my grandmother, who believed we must find better cancer treatment options for all patients. Today, the center's patient-specific approach uniquely aligns each individual's cancer with the newest discoveries in personalized therapies. YOUR BEST BALL MEMORY. My first Ball as a member was definitely the most memorable. Prior to my experience as an active member, I had a misperception that the Ball was a social event. My work with the beneficiaries that year showed me why we exist: the incredible process, investment, and dedication every member commits to our charitable projects. I learned through hard work that we partner with our charities to implement game-changing services for the children of Dallas. Learning the why really grabbed my heart, galvanized my personal commitment and made the donor thank-you party a joyful celebration for me that year. WEARING: OSCAR DE LA RENTA. JEWELRY: CRIVELLI, EMERALD- CUT SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING. SHOES: HER OWN. THE FIRST EVENT YOU EVER CHAIRED? In 2007, my husband Key and I co-chaired the Billiard Ball benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, with Cecilie and Ronnie Holman. The honorary chairs were Kay Bailey and Ray Hutchison, and the honorees included Caren Prothro, Ron Gafford, Roger Staubach, John Tatum and Bob Wright. One of the highlights of the evening was surprising Bob Wright with a congratulatory video message from his good friend George H.W. Bush. THE BEST DRESS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN AT THE BALL? Several years ago, my friend Alison Farrow wore an amazing sequined Oscar de la Renta gown. She was definitely the belle of the ball! BEST ADVICE. Strive to put your faith first, others second and yourself third. Margaret HANCOCK Christi URSCHEL Katherine COKER
