Don't get me wrong; I love to shop — but I may love cocktailing more. After all, a good stiff drink always fits. Simply called 12, the clubby 19th hole is slated to have a full-service bar stocked with manly bracers and a menu of sandwiches, desserts and coffees. We've thought longingly of the big oak bar that kept vigil in the men's department when Saks opened in the '90s. It was debunked for more selling space, we suppose. We couldn't love the new name more: 12, the perfect number of hours to fill with toasting, quaffing and swilling. Also fueling the Saks men's department are new names including Burberry, Ferragamo, a Montblanc shop, new space devoted to designs from the Carr label and DJs spinning every Saturday. Seth Vaughan Legacy Restaurants owners Niel Morgan and his son Chase have hired Anvil Partnership (which runs Anvil, Hay Merchant and Underbelly) to operate their two Houston concepts, Antoine's Famous Po'Boys and the Original Ninfa's on Navigation. Both concepts have been around for decades and will celebrate, respectively, their 50th and 40th anniversaries next year … A happy 42nd birthday to Los Tios, the Tex-Mex restaurant concept established by Rosemary Gambett and now owned by Gary Adair. Los Tios was reportedly the first eatery in the city to serve frozen margaritas … Gloria's, a Salvadorian/ Mexican food concept, has PC Acquire L Deborah Treviño Porter's Untitled #8, from the series "Three Minutes in Mexico" ike Andy Warhol, our talent for this month's PC Acquire, Deborah Treviño Porter, juggles the realms of commercial and fine art. With nearly a quarter century of image-making as a lensman of cover and feature stories (including ones for PaperCity magazine), Porter knows her way around a Leica and Hasselblad. Beginning in 2011, she turned her camera on fine art, unveiling a series of fashionable, uncanny skeletons in the latest designer garb. Megan Pruitt Winder Restaurant Buzz The new River Oaks District going up along Westheimer Road, bordered by Westcreek Lane on the west side and Bettis to the north, will encompass 650,000 square feet of mixed use — a high-rise residence called 4444|Westheimer (278 units); two luxury hotels; chic, chic retail (270,000 square feet of shopping); a cinema; and office towers. OliverMcMillan (Morgan Dene Oliver and James McMillan) is behind the development (Buckhead Atlanta and San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter) and is purported to have signed San Francisco's Le Colonial restaurant and NY's Le Bilboquet bistro. Now, these are purports, not actual established fact. But we couldn't (purportedly) be more thrilled … Deutsch & Deutsch now exclusively carries William Goldberg Ashoka Diamonds. Other big news at Deutsch & Deutsch is the opening of a Buccellati in–shop boutique. Think lush Buccellati fabric-covered walls and gilded cases shaped like antique clocks, which will house a large assortment of gold and silver jewelry, watches, silver flatware, picture frames and gifts … Home-goods store Biscuit opens November 1 at 2608 Westheimer, opened in midtown. This is the first Houston outpost for the Dallas export, which serves up dishes such as grilled pork fajitas, ceviche tostadas and black bean dip … The Brazilian steakhouse Texas de Brazil has opened a 9,000-squarefoot space at CityCentre. Roaming waiters with spears packed with grilled and roasted beef, chicken, lamb, pork, sausage and more portion out as much as you can possibly consume … Under construction at BLVD Place are another outpost of the tart frozen yogurt sensation Pinkberry and True Food Kitchen, an eatery conceptualized by the famous Dr. Andrew Weil and restaurateur Sam Fox (Fox's Restaurant Concepts). TFK concentrates on delicious healthy fare that follows the tenets of Weil's antiinflammatory diet. Look for a 2013 opening.
