Chopra serves as an advisory board member to the foundation, which feeds 1.4 million children daily in 9,000-plus schools in India. Instrumental to the evening: honorary chairmen Gwen and Ed Emmett and four chair couples: Philamena and Arthur Baird, Anuradha and Mani Subramanian, Nidhika and Pershant Mehta, and Leena and Ash Shah, the latter who endowed $1 million to the cause.
