A former president of the Junior League of Dallas, she has chaired beaucoup events and, most notably, is working her philanthropic magic on what will no doubt be a show-stopping Crystal Charity Ball, come December. She's done it all, from being named to the Ten Best Dressed lists in 2006, 2007, and 2008 to chairing the Fashion Show and Luncheon in 2009. After graduating from University of Texas at Austin, Betsy taught chemistry before starting a family. In addition to her work for CCB, Sowell serves on the Baylor Scott and White Healthcare System Foundation advisory board, New Friends New Life advisory board, and Laura Bush Institute for Women's Health.
