MOLLY DICKSON "I loved working with Andrew Bayer on his behind-the-scenes videos. And I loved the dinosaur bones in the space where we shot Crystal Charity Best Dressed (page 86)." Looking forward to: A vacation! Probably a working one. Molly Dickson is a photog- rapher and director with work in Flaunt, Icon, Off the Rails, and Con Art. She splits her time between Dallas and New York. ROB BRINKLEY "The third time had better be the charm for the Ritz Paris and me (page 66). I was due to celebrate my 30th birthday there but was thwarted by a pilots' strike. An- other big birthday just came up — and the Ritz caught fire the month before, delaying its reopening for months. So when I finally go, whenever the fates allow, I expect shooting stars, champagne sprays, and a Hal- lelujah chorus when I walk through that door." Looking forward to: A change of colors that will put Vermont to shame. We have earned it. Rob Brinkley is a writer, editor, creative director, and is a former PaperCity Dallas co-editor. His writing has appeared in Esquire, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, Veranda, FD, FD House, D Home, and the magazines of the Nasher Sculp- ture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, and Highland Park Village. BROOKE HORTENSTINE "At a dinner hosted by Stanley Korshak hon- oring designer Bru- nello Cucinelli, I was assigned to interview the king of luxurious neutrals (page 58). It was fascinating to hear about Cucinelli's love for not only fashion, but philosophy, exemplary cor- porate culture, and even the specific T-shirt sleeve length he wears on his Italian beach vacations." Looking forward to: The inaugural Prelude Lights event benefitting AT&T Performing Arts Center. Brooke Hortenstine is co-owner of the branding and marketing firm Ashlar Projects, a contribut- ing editor at PaperCity, and a former PaperCity Dallas co-editor. CASEY DUNN "When we walked in to photograph Mr. Chow (page 100), he sat us down at a 15- foot dining table and asked us what we wanted for break- fast. In what felt like a scene straight out of a movie set in the Hollywood Hills, he gave us the option of tea, coffee, or cocaine. Not sure if he was kidding, but we all laughed as he proceeded to grill each of us individually about our credentials. Luckily we passed the test, and he let us stay. After that, all the doors kind of opened. Chow was pretty much game for everything we wanted to try." Looking forward to: Traveling around the world in September. First for a project shooting in Seoul, then out west to meet my fiancée in Stockholm for work/play. Then to Dallas for my rep and dear friend Jenn Dunn's wedding. Casey Dunn is a photographer based in Austin; his work has appeared in Dwell, Architectural Record, New York Times Magazine, Architectural Digest, Texas Monthly, Western Art & Architecture, Details, This Old House, and Texas Architect. MINDY BYRD "I loved seeing the amazing Ritz Paris (pages 66 – 77). The suites were more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. We felt like royalty for a few days." Looking forward to: Being part of the photography show "Refinery29: 29 Women We Admire" in NYC September 21 through 25. And a birthday trip to Iceland in October! Mindy Byrd's photography work has appeared in NY Mag – The Cut, Refinery29, Schön! Magazine, and Superior Magazine. She splits her time between Dallas and the West Coast. MAX TROWBRIDGE "This month, Dallas will expe- rience the work of fashion pho- tographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber at the Dal- las Contemporary (page 42). It was an honor to work on this feature with Weber and his team; his influence on pop culture through fashion and film creates a snap- shot of four decades of creativity, and I look for- ward to meeting Mr. Weber when he arrives for the opening." Looking forward to: Supporting The Family Place and ReuNight, this year co-chaired by Brian Bolke and Faisal Halum and Shelle and Michael Sills, with guest of honor Donna Karan. I don't know which I'm more excited about — meeting Ms. Karan or getting a sneak peek at the new Forty Five Ten downtown, where Brian hosts a cocktail reception for Donna before the new store's opening celebration. Max Trowbridge is PaperCity editor at large; serves on the board of directors at Dallas Contemporary; and is a former PaperCity Dallas editor. Max's writing has appeared in Du Jour and on pinkmemo.com, as founder. FILIPPO TATTONI-MARCOZZI "I have many titles: the one I was born with, the one I studied for, the one that defines my profession as an art advisor … But the one I like the most is the one PaperCity gave me: Eu- ropean editor at large! I love the excuse of jet-set- ting around Europe, re- porting to all my friends in Texas from across the pond, telling all from the Venice Biennale; the latest shows, exhibitions, and parties in Lon- don-Paris-Milan; what to wear, what to drink, and what to look at, while mingling with the art and fashion crowd of the old continent ... and even how to prepare for an Italian country wedding, as I did with a new morning suit for my brother's big day. I hope you all enjoy read- ing about my very own Grande Bellezza movie set! For the September issue, I am reporting from this season's most talked-about party (page 63), Edgardo Osorio's Florentine extravaganza of costumes, feathers … and surrealist lobsters!" Looking forward to: Rejoining the art fair circus again, which will move around the globe from Miami to New York, London to Hong Kong, Basel, Milan. Follow Filippo at @Filippo Tattoni-Marcozzi, Pa- perCity European editor at large, travels the world following art, design, and fashion, and is based in Washington, D.C.
