MOLLY DICKINSON GOTTA HAVE FAITH IN A ONE-IN-A-MILLION MODELING JACKPOT, HOUSTON'S FAITH LYNCH WALKS THE MIU MIU RUNWAY AND LANDS A W MAGAZINE SHOOT ... IN HER FIRST SEASON. BY STEVEN HEMPEL " I don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day." The famous words of Linda Evangelista say a lot about the fashion industry. The '80s was an era when supermodels ruled the world and became powerful influencers of fashion. That influence continues today, but the faces change … they always do. What hasn't changed is the road to the top. Obscured by the bright lights of the runway is the hard work required to get there. Training, fittings, and rejections are downsides often overlooked when we think about models. Reaching the top looks great, but few realize how very distant that top is — and how few make it there. Faith Lynch, PaperCity's November cover model, may be just starting the journey, but she is one of the new faces that rocked the 2017 runways i n P a r i s and NYC. Scouted at a Wiz Khalifa concert in the Woodlands, she signed at the age of 16 with Neal Hamil Agency in Houston. With prodding, she convinced her parents to let her take the leap into modeling and enrolled in classes. She began building her portfolio, working with local photographers and walking runway shows. In March 2016, she was invited to audition for the International Model Talent Association (IMTA) in New York, where she won Model of the Year as well as Most Sought After model. From New York, it was back to Houston to graduate from Tomball High School, and within weeks she was off to Paris. There, she was cast to walk Miu Miu's 2017 Resort show, styled by Katie Grand. This led to a shoot in London for W magazine with top models Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski, among others, shot by British photog Alasdair McLellan; followed by editorials for Jalouse magazine and Elle China, and a video in Milos, Greece, with Male Model of the Year Jordan Barrett for the movie Heart of the Sun. In August, she walked in New York Fashion Week and was in Paris again to close Paris Fashion Week for Miu Miu's Spring/ Summer 2018 collection. ON HER WORK WITH KATIE GRAND "I remember thinking, this is so surreal; I can't believe this is happening. It wasn't until a few days after the show, when I was asked to go to London and shoot a W magazine editorial, styled by Katie, that I realized: 'Oh my goodness, I am working with the Katie Grand.'"
