In planning the premier Break the Chain dinner benefi tting Operation Underground Railroad, founder and CEO Tim Ballard wisely enlisted the help of top tastemakers to lead the charge for the organization's entrée into Texas — co-chairs (and mother-daughter duo) Joy Osborne and Kari Osborne and honorary chairs Brooke Hortenstine and Missy Wyszynski. The benevolent crew recruited more than 300 for an evening of cocktails, dinner, and do-gooding. "We felt so lucky that we were the fi rst people O.U.R. dialed for their inaugural Dallas fund-raiser," Hortenstine said. "It's not very often you get the opportunity to curate an event where the cause is close to your heart." Ballard and fellow team members Jessica Mass and Matt Osborne shared the impact the organization has had since opening its doors in 2013 — saving more than 650 victims of sex traffi cking and assisting in the arrests of more than 275 suspected traffi ckers. Such impressive numbers caused the room to raise a glass in toast to the nonprofi t. And toast they did — un til the last bottle of champagne was uncorked and the crowd said adieu, until year two.
