letter publisher STEVEN VISNEAU, SISTERBROTHER MGMT 10 G rowing up, I spent my summers in Montana on my grand- parents' farm. My brother and I would arrive right after school was over and return home a week before it started again. For almost three full months, we relished in big-sky country and all its wide-open space. As the summer months roll in each year, I find myself nostalgically yearning for at least a small piece of this childhood experience. And this year I'm plotting trips to Banff in Alberta, Canada, and a few other spots where fresh air and breathtaking views are easily enjoyed. And while it's mountain towns that call me, it's wanderlust for Mexico that calls PaperCity this summer. Just over a two-hour flight from Dallas, Mexico City has become a vibrant go-to destination for many Texans. Beginning on page 42, we look at the country's capital city through two perspectives, from the artful lens of European editor at large Filippo Tattoni-Marcozzi and the local insider eye of art and creative director Michelle Aviña. Also an easy trip from Dallas are two gorgeous new properties to add to your travel log: Hotel San Cristóbal, the newest from Texas-based hospitality group Bunkhouse, and Rosewood Puebla, located in the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Site that we swear is poised to be as popular a destination as San Miguel de Allende. The restaurant Pujol, a Mexico City hot spot, certainly deserves special mention. I was lucky enough to land a reservation during my last trip South of the Border, and it was memorable, to say the least. The daily menu starts with elevated street snacks to share — including a baby corn and chicatana ant dish that sounded daring but was presented with seamlessly incorporated ingredients, making for a most scrumptious treat. The second, third, and fourth courses were divine, but nothing could top course five: the signature mole madre — aged for 1,000 days and counting. Artful, playful, and absolutely delicious, the restaurant alone is worth a visit to the city. For a mouthwatering inside look at Pujol by way of assistant digital editor Jailyn Marcel, turn to page 52. Happy travels! Briana Buxbaum Dallas Publisher briana@papercitymag.com
