Stylish System at the Menil S ystem Magazine, the cool-and-collected indie mag, looked to Houston for substantial articles in its second issue. The biannual European publication, founded by Alexia Niedzielski and Elizabeth von Guttman, based in London and Paris, explores the interplay between fashion and contemporary society. In this issue, patroness Lynn Wyatt's cultural commitments to Houston are considered (written by Paris- based Jerry Stafford), and journalist William Middleton surveys the Menil exhibition "A Thin Wall of Air: Charles James" (May 31 – September 7), curated by Susan Sutton. Menil director Josef Helfenstein welcomed the polyglots to the Menil House. In the cultured coterie: Amanda Harlech, Janet and Paul Hobby, Sara Dodd, Jerry Jeanmard and Cliff Helmcamp, Steve Wyatt, Carl Palazzolo, Sylvie Christophe, and Mark Sullivan.
