MARCH | PAGE 51 | 2014 Touchdown for Teaching E ducators scored a huge victory at the Touchdown for Knowledge Arts Foundation event, which raised more than a quarter million dollars for HISD teachers, much to the delight of co-founders Susan D. Krohn and Mary Yenik and chairmen DeeDee and Wallis Marsh. However, the MVP of the evening proved to be Archie Manning, father of NFL all-stars Peyton and Eli, who shared memorable anecdotes about parenting, football and education at Hotel ZaZa that night. Other highlights included a testimony to the foundation's effectiveness from an eighth-grader interviewed by Cullen Middle School principal Clayton Crook. Scoring big: Mary Lynn and Kelly Rushing, Olivia Manning, Kay and Fred Zeidman, Soraya and Scott McClelland, Harvin Moore, and John Havens.
