The crescendo was a panel discussion hosted in the expansive Alkusari showroom, featuring noted designers Suzanne Kasler, Jeffrey Alan Marks, and Tom Scheerer, moderated by Robin Mueck of Heritage Texas Properties. The discussion imparted a plethora of useful tips, including how to effectively bill and run multi-person offices, which have allowed each to navigate the ins and outs of their respective careers for decades. Welcoming guests for the morning discussion — which was followed by a buffet lunch, and then book signings for each in Terri Pugh Studio, Bunch & Shoemaker and Design House showrooms — were Houston Design Center proprietors Sheri and Grant Roane, along with Denzil Hollingsworth. Taking notes: Paloma Contreras, Kristy Keele, Catherine Roark, Rachel Hanse, Kristen Abney, Chaille Ralph, Mike Mahlstedt, Lindsey Herod, Lindsay Looke, Elizabeth Stiver, Amanda Medina, and Amy Munger. And so it was that the evening before the Fall Market itself, Beth and Bobby Reeves hosted Kasler and Marks for an intimate cocktail party at their beguiling Tanglewood residence, during which authors and acolytes alike imbibed and inscribed.
