MOLLY DICKSON PHOTOGRAPHER "Staying in Wimberley with the crew for this month's fashion feature, Sophie's Choice (page 44), and working with model Sophie Jones was wonderful. Even though it rained." Looking forward to: A vacation! Probably a working one. ANDREW BAYER FASHION STYLIST AND SET DESIGNER "My favorite part of styling this month's fashion feature, Sophie's Choice (page 44), was the opportunity to work with some of the most creative people I know in one of my favorite places in Texas, Wimberley." Looking forward to: Bayer Brother Sets is expanding into a larger studio, and I'm excited to be working with my brothers on the expansion of the family business. CASEY DUNN PHOTOGRAPHER "As a person with a borderline sneaker/ shoe addiction, I had major closet envy with the owners' shoe collections (The Bold & the Beautiful, page 66) and the way that the closet was laid out. It was basically a shoe museum. As the kids would say, #closetgoals."" Looking forward to: Without a doubt, I am most excited about the release of our Marfa Modern book (Off the Grid, page 58) on October 25. I've been working on this project in Marfa for two years with a dear friend, writer Helen Thompson. This was transformative for me, both in terms of my approach to shooting in- teriors and the influence it had on my personal design aesthetic. I'm excited to get the book out into the world. MAX BURKHALTER PHOTOGRAPHER "The guys at White Oak Music Hall (page 108) were fun to meet, and it was great to see the venue coming together — and the 360-degree view from the VIP room upstairs." Looking forward to: H e a d i n g t o New York, cold weather, and making a zine with my good friend Ryan Taylor over at East End barber. MAX TROWBRIDGE EDITOR AT LARGE, PAPERCITY; BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT DALLAS CONTEMPORARY. "Dallas is experiencing the work of fashion photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber at the Dallas Contemporary (page 28). It's an honor to work on this feature with Weber and his team; his influence on pop culture through fashion and film leaves an indelible snapshot over four decades of creativity." Looking forward to: Rejoining the art-fair circus again, which will move around the globe from Miami to New York, London to Hong Kong, Basel, Milan. contributors STEPHANIE QUADRI GABBY ROSENBERG HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTIST "Loved the environment in which we worked (Sophie's Choice, page 44). The Blanco river makes for one helluva back- ground. Texas never disappoints." Looking forward to: My fall calendar is all about art, music … and drag queens! High- lights: The Blake Wright's art show at VOD Thursday, October 27, and a trip to Austin for ACL to see Mike Snow, LCD Soundsys- tem, and one of our favorite queens, Miss Naomi Smalls. 6
