A s chairman and artistic director of La Maison Pierre Frey (founded by his father, Pierre, in 1935), Patrick Frey has expanded the company with acquisitions of luxury French brands including Maison Braquenié, Le Manach, and Rosello. But Frey's heart lies in the archives — after 20 years of demanding, scientific work, Pierre Frey now has one of the world's richest private textile heritages in France, with more than 25,000 documents. The company's new book, Pierre Frey: Textiles, Wallpapers, Carpets, and Furniture (Flammarion), draws upon these thousands of documents to create an invaluable resource for contemporary designers, as well as a vibrant documentation of the legacy that Frey is passing on to his three sons, Vincent, Pierre, and Matthieu.
