Fashion Notes A renaissance can be many things. One of the most commonly referenced took place in Europe, starting in the 15th century, after years of war, plague, and illiteracy, as the continent clawed itself out of the abyss to experience a rebirth of epic proportions. Gone were the Dark Ages; in their place, a new light led by art and achievement. In a renaissance of another type, following a five-year break, Beyoncé has unleashed a creative maelstrom with her latest tour, aptly entitled Renaissance, which came to Houston last month. Since its May kickoff in Stockholm, the latest tour has made waves across the globe. With 57 shows scheduled, it finds Beyoncé showing off her incredible talents while Queen Bey returns wearing couture and costumes from a who's who of designers. Her album (which she describes as an homage to dance music and queer culture), her voice, and her outfits have all caused a sensation on stage. From bespoke works by McQueen and Sarah Burton to Schiaparelli, Vuitton, and Loewe, we take a look at some of the transformative and awe-inspiring looks that have wowed audiences to date.
