The Brooklyn Home Company, a family-run design collective known for its distinguished living spaces emphasizing art and craft, has released its debut monograph, The Brooklyn Home: Modern Havens in the City (Abrams). Written by our old friend David Sokol, whom we knew well in another life, and with a foreword by Martha Stewart, the 224- page hardcover explores properties that epitomize the best of Brooklyn style — those that are comfortable yet minimalist, artistic, and filled with light. The exhaustively researched book, which also focuses on the craftsmanship of local makers, tells a beautiful story of unique artisans and the spaces they helped to create. M ichael Kors launches a special capsule this month to mark the 10th anniversary of his involvement with the United Nations World Food Programme. To date, the Michael Kors Watch Hunger Stop campaign has donated more than 30 million meals to children in food-challenged areas through its school-meals initiative. A reception with WFP executive director Cindy McCain, Mr. Kors, New Kors Kapsule and actress Halle Berry at UN headquarters marked the occasion.
