D esign destination Avenue Road has opened a temporary Dallas studio in the Dallas Design District, with a nearby permanent location in the works. Avenue Road was founded by Munich native Stephen Weishaupt of Toronto's Weishaupt Design Group in 2007 and has locations in New York, Toronto, Vancouver, and Miami. The Dallas studio offers Avenue Road's highly curated collection of furniture, accessories, lighting, textiles, bespoke kitchens, and architectural products from such designers as Christophe Delcourt, Sebastian Herkner, and Yabu Pushelberg. The products are presented in immersive spaces that cultivate meaningful relationships between makers, emphasizing the authenticity of their products and materials and the stories of their creators, and design devotees. Weishaupt and team select pieces not only for aesthetics, but also for sustainability, integrity of craftsmanship, and the humanity of their makers. Included are Weisthaupt's own Immersive Design at Avenue Road T he 163-year-old British textiles manufacturer Sanderson has a veritable treasure trove of archive designs from its early collaborations with Walt Disney Studios, many dating to the '20s and '30s when Mickey Mouse was first introduced.
