A s the westerncore wave rolls onward, a new brand is throwing its hat in the luxury cowboy boot ring. Of course, in a category defined by stalwarts such as Lucchese and Tony Lama, a boot label has to be notable to stand out. Partlow, co-founded by sisters Kasey Lemkin and Lawren Sample, is up to the challenge. "We never thought of Partlow as being something trendy — we want you to be able to pass these boots down to your daughter," says Lemkin, a former model and luxury merchandiser who recently OBSESSIONS. The sprawling ode to the Italian icon (which cost around $8 million, according to the Dallas Morning News) is the largest of the brand's six Texas stores — a move that's in step with the fashion house's history in the city: NorthPark welcomed the first Gucci store to Dallas in 1981. L.A.-based Sample is a celebrity stylist whose clientele includes Anne Hathaway and Jamie King. The sisters' modern tweaks include a sleek silhouette influenced by riding boots as much as the western staple. Partlow also uses fine Italian leather, with four layers of cushioning to elongate the leg and provide additional comfort. "It almost feels like you're walking in a sneaker all day, which is so lovely," Lemkin says. Partlow launched with six styles, each versatile enough to pair with jeans or an evening gown. All boots feature the brand's subtle, signature touch of gold just above the heel. "We wanted to make sure every detail is of the highest quality," Lemkin says.
