"My hope is to re-inspire architects with the joy of observing and with the idea that by seeing, in particular, the landscapes in which we live we can reconnect our architecture to place, and to enrich our ideas for the creation of more rewarding environments for the future." — Michael G. Imber The Architect's Architect Michael G. Imber T he Art of the Architect (Triglyph Books) is the work of San Antonio-based architect Michael G. Imber, whose watercolors and sketches are published here for the first time, showing what a vital contribution they make at every stage of an architectural project. Rich in examples of the art and philosophy that have inspired him over the years, this book is both an ode to a precious art form and a visual delight. As a visual artist as well as an architect, Imber brings a unique and landscape-oriented approach to his work, which is evident in his Texas ranches and country homes as well as coastal homes and resorts he has designed around the world. CV: Imber has been inducted into the American Institute of Architects' College of Fellows and awarded ICAA's Lifetime Arthur Ross Award, Texas Society of Architects' William W.
