KEMO SABE OPENS IN ROUND TOP ANY LONGER LONE RANGER ROUND ROUND ABOUT TOP BY CANDICE COWIN H ot Aspen-based western wear company Kemo Sabe has added Round Top to its list of cool cities (Aspen, Vail, Jackson, Park City) with a new year-round store in Henkel Square Market. In a meet-cute happenstance, Kemo Sabe owner Wendy Kunkle met the Massey family in Aspen (that's Round Top Mayor Mark Massey) and the rest is hat history. After a successful pop-up at this year's spring show by the traveling Kemo Sabe Roadhouse crew, utilizing their 18-wheeler Roadhouse van as storefront, Kemo Sabe has put up stakes in Round Top year-round, with a 1,200 square foot permanent store, located behind Ellis Motel. Kemo Sabe's new Round Top HQ opened ahead of the Fall 2023 Antiques + Design Show stocked with the beloved Grit line of hats, boots, and buckles (worn by Jeff Bezos, Beyoncé, Orlando Bloom), all handmade in Texas — Grit hats are made at the company's Hat Ranch in Gainesville, TX; boots are constructed at the company's new El Paso boot factory. Kemo Sabe also stocks custom boots, knives, vintage jewelry, and western wear and will showcase local Round Top artisans. Stay tuned to Kemo Sabe's Instagram @kemosabe1990 for events.
