TEXAS DESIGN WEEK DALLAS IS A TICKETED EVENT. TO PURCHASE TICKETS, AND FOR COMPLETE SCHEDULE, GO TO TEXASDESIGNWEEK.COM. October 30—November 3, 2023 Some of the most celebrated designers and architects working today are in Dallas this month as Texas Design Week Dallas roars into town. Here's whom you'll see in a stellar lineup of salon talks, panel discussions, cocktails, and book signings. By Caitlin Hsu "Having lived in the same building in New York City for the last 27 years, I can see these twists and turns as they have occurred and been memorialized in print, like a map of my past and a diagram of where my head was at during my various stops on the stations of the decorative cross." — Alexa Hampton A Design Journey: Alexa Hampton A lexa Hampton grew up immersed in design. Her father was legendary designer Mark Hampton, and her mother is the irrepressibly stylish Duane Hampton. She began working in her late father's office as a teenager and throughout her childhood traveled with her academically oriented parents through museums and galleries around the world. She ultimately developed a genuine love for design, and her newest book, Alexa Hampton: Design, Style, and Influence (Clarkson Potter), is a billet-doux to the profession and to her own pre-war apartment on 59th Street in Manhattan, her forever home. She takes us through a personal history of the countless redecorations and updates in the space, as well as the objects, art, and textiles that invigorate it. Hampton's iconic style is a testament to the art movements and famous tastemakers that have inspired her. CV: Hampton has been named one of Architectural Digest's AD100 since 2002 and House Beautiful's 100 Best Designers since 1999, and is the creator of The Wall Street Journal's "Where To" column and the first female designer to win the International Market Center's Design Icon Award. What, When, Where: Illustrated talk, book signing, and afternoon wine with Alexa Hampton Tuesday, October 31, 1 to 3 pm, at Visual Comfort & Co., 2000 N. Stemmons Fwy., Suite 1D111.
