N ow you can live in John Derian's wonderland world of intriguing 18th- and 19th-century prints. His latest collection of fabric and wallpaper for Designers Guild, Picture Book III, debuted this fall. Derian is known for his obsession with printed matter resulting in decoupaged glass plates, trays, bowls, and other home objects that quickly became coveted items in well- designed homes across the world. For his fabrics and wallpapers, flowers, exotic birds, fauna, butterflies, and botanical studies pulled from his extensive archive of historical ephemera are printed on subtly slubbed textural cottons and coordinating wallpapers and scenic panels. A stunning peacock, perched among trailing leaves and flowers, originated as a set of hand- painted screens from his studio, resulting in Peacock Toile. The artfully rendered oranges, lemons, pears, and blossoms with flowing leaves in Orchard Fruits were pulled from Derian's extensive botanical illustration archive. To the trade at ID Collection. Anne Lee Phillips A Little High Gloss Through the Looking Glass O omph Home — known f o r i t s h i g h - g l o s s l a c q u e r f u r n i t u re , custom upholstery, lighting, and outdoor furniture — has opened a showroom within Quadrille in the Dallas Design District. Louise Brooks and Amy Rice founded the brand from their homes in Greenwich in 2009, based on the concept that the smallest dose of color in a room, be it a coffee table or drinks table, adds just the right amount of "oomph" to brighten a space. Designers embraced the punchy high-gloss Tini accent table and snappy coffee tables, then a chic backgammon table debuted and was also a huge hit with designers, and the rest is history. The collection is American-made by multigenerational experts in their crafts, and while the brand caters primarily to designers, it's not exclusively to the trade. Each piece is made to order and über- customizable. The Dallas location is the brand's fourth showroom, and its second with Quadrille & China Seas — a natural fit given the matching splashy aesthetics. New this fall is the Wave collection, which includes a desk, console, and side table that perfectly showcase the exquisite craftsmanship combined with whimsy. Also new is the Bedford bed, a four-poster and canopy hybrid that takes upholstered beds to new heights. Oomph in Quadrille, Dallas Design Center, 1025 N.
