The design world has always had a soft spot for
Yves Klein and his mesmerizing blue hue. One of the
20th century's most fascinating artists, Klein applied
blue everywhere — from canvases where pigment-
drenched nude models served as human paintbrushes
to blue-slathered sponges as biomorphic sculpture.
His signature powdery ultramarine pigment became
known as International Klein Blue.
