I love wide-open spaces and the country — I'm from southwest Texas. I'm actually driving to my dad's ranch this weekend. It's a long drive to make with my two kids in tow, but once I get there, I find it hard to leave. It's so peaceful and truly gives me time to reflect. DREAM RESERVATIONS. We have it made here in Houston, as far as easy international travel goes. Now that my kids are older and easier to travel with, I am eager to visit Central America and, in particular, Costa Rica. The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo is on the top of my list. IN YOUR SUITCASE. Freya hat, denim shirt, embroidered skirt, my favorite Brother Vellies sandals, my favorite Freya item, the Poppy hatbox in red ($890), and the new handmade rattan hatbox ($300). PLANNED PILGRIMAGE. I always have some music on my travel calendar. My husband and I are heading to the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Love in Marfa this September. DESIGN NOTES. One of my all time favorite colors that I have used in every house we've lived in — from Houston to San Francisco and back to Houston — is Farrow & Ball Tanner's Brown. I'm about to paint my kitchen either Kelly green or peacock blue or trusty ole Tanner's Brown. I think I might switch it up to something more colorful this time. W A R D R O B E UPDATES.
