I t was an evening of painting and poetry, with lavish spring blooms from David Brown Flowers sprouting from towering Baccarat vases. Culinaire catered the bites and passed endless flutes of champagne in gorgeous Baccarat stems. The crystalline cocktail party honored designer Lucinda Loya and celebrated Mother's Day, while benefitting Fresh Arts' mission to empower Houston artists. Hometown talents were front and center, beginning with artist Angela Fabbri, who painted one of her signature text- filled canvases on the spot. Contributing poetry was Emanuelee Bean, aka Outspoken Bean, founder of the poetry festival, Plus Fest. And Ahmad Hygh, aka Nyne the Poet, set up a poetry-upon-demand station amidst the beautiful Baccarat wares, composing five-minute poems for each guest.
